Fauquier Authorities investigate the death of a teacher

Fauquier County Authorities and Culpeper Police announced the investigation of  the shooting of an Auburn Middle School teacher and his wife.

Authorities responded to an emergency call Fri. Sept. 9 from the 1500 block of Burgandine Avenue where they found the couple shot to death.

The deaths of 41 year old Daniel and Stacey Garrison is still being investigated and anyone with any information is asked to contact Fauquier County authorities.

The Fauquier County Public Schools system announced that they were informed of the incident Friday afternoon and informed staff and families early Saturday morning.

School Officials offered support and counseling for students through the week.

Social workers, central staff and therapy dogs were on hand to provide coping support to staff and students at Auburn Middle School.

Additional information is expected as the investigation progresses.

Daniel Garrison taught at Auburn Middle School since 2016.
