Frederick County Public Schools announced a revised compensation plan and changes to the budget during last week’s School Board meeting.
These changes were made following an announcement of additional funding by the state of Virginia in late June.
Some of the details of the compensation package changes include a base pay scale increase of 4.5% instead of the originally approved 3.5% and educational degree supplements as well as academic and athletic coaching stipends will also increase to 4.5%.
These adjustments will be applied automatically and twelve month employees will see the changes for the July paycheck while 10 and 11 month employees will see the change in August.
The School Board also approved:
- the return of a previously cut of 10% from individual school budget, transportation, and facilities services departments
- additional funding for arts and athletics
- the addition of three high school instructional coaches
- funding for vehicles dedicated to transporting students with special needs
- additional preventative or general maintenance.
