FCPS name a new interim School Superintendent

The Frederick County School Board announced the appointment of the new interim Superintendent.

Former School Board Chairperson Dr. John Lamanna has been named the new interim Superintendent of Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) effective Aug. 8.

The School Board has also named former Assistant Superintendent of Administration Dr. Al Orndorff as the Interim Assistant Superintendent of Administration effective today Aug. 3.

The search for a permanent Superintendent for Frederick County Public Schools continues.

Mon. Aug. 15 is the first day of school for students in Frederick County with teacher workdays schedule Aug. 8-12.
