In a release from Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) the efforts of  School Resource Officer N. Spence were recognized.

Spence went above and beyond the call of duty in assisting a student at Orchard View Elementary School.

Student Mary Brown lost a sentimental ring in the school playground.

The ring was given to her by a friend who has since passed away.

Officer Spence herd of Mary’s plight and took his own time and equipment to locate the lost ring.

Spence spent over 40 minutes combing the playground with his metal detector to find the ring.

After the search Spence located the ring and returned it to Mary.

Assistant Superintendent for Administration Vern Bock recognized Deputy Spence for his commitment to serving the students and school.
