Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) reports the investigation of a church being  vandalized and burglarized.

Averie Pozzo Di Borgo of Marshall was arrested and charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of destruction of property.

This followed the investigation of two incidents of burglary and vandalism of the First Ashville Baptist Church of Marshall.

The first incident was reported by a church Deacon on the night of May 20 at approximately 6:30.

The second incident was reported May 21 at approximately 5:45 in the evening.

In the second incident the Deacon was able to provide authorities with a description and license number of the vehicle the individuals were traveling in.

The vehicle was stopped and found to contain Di Borgo and two juveniles who were all detained without further incident.

Di Borgo did not participate in the first incident at the church, but the juveniles were.

All three of the individuals were involved in the second incident.

A 17-year-old female and 14-year-old male were interviewed with parents present and are expected to be facing charges.

The vandalism of the building included graffiti and items being taken which were recovered.

The 19-year-old Di Borgo has been released on a $3,000 unsecured bond.
