FCSO updates bank robber hunt

Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) responded to a bank robbery at the Bank of Clarke County in the 100 block of Crock Wells Mills Drive off of Route 50 Aug. 18.

Authorities are on the lookout for a white male who stands approximately 6 feet tall.

At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a red windbreaker, gray shorts and black shoes with a white N on them.

The man entered the bank wearing a black holster with white lettering displaying a black handgun and demanded money.

The suspect left the bank on foot with a large white trash bag and an undetermined amount of cash heading toward the Round Hill Road area.

Sheriff Lenny Millholland confirmed that the suspect got into a dark colored vehicle believed to be an SUV Ford Eco Sport or something similar.

Fairfax County authorities were asked to provide air search support.

Once the suspect entered a vehicle Fairfax County support was called off.

K-9 units were used to try and track the suspect with no success.

Authorities are now reviewing security footage from all available sources around the bank.

Residents and citizens are asked to review video from their own ringtone doorbells or security cameras.

Footage from cameras that face Round Hill Road or the surrounding Route 50 Walmart area may contain important information.

Review the footage from Aug. 18 between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. for any helpful clues.
