FCSO steps up patrols at Back Mountain Road

Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) is stepping up patrols of the Back Mountain Road area.
The road is consistently in the top five of area roads in crashes, aggressive driving and speeding.
In the course of an hour and a half on a random weekday recently, six speeding tickets, three summons and an arrest were made.
Including a summons involving a bus being passed on a double yellow line.
The FCSO is investigating options with VDOT and Frederick County Transportation to address the situation.
In the meantime the Traffic Division will be stepping up patrols to help improve safety on that stretch of road.
