Two candidates will face off this weekend in a firehouse primary to determine who will be the Republican nominee in the race for the 29th House of Delegates District seat recently vacated by Chris Collins.

Current Winchester City Council member, Bill Wiley, and former Warren County Board of Supervisors Chairman, Richard Traczyk, are vying for the nomination.

Wiley has been a member of the Winchester City Council since 2014. Prior to being elected to city council, Wiley served for five years on the Winchester Planning Commission and was chairman for three of those years. Professionally, he serves as the business development manager for Howard Shockey and Sons Inc. and is an associate real estate broker at Oakcrest Commercial Real Estate.

Traczyk served more than seven years on the Warren County Planning Commission and 12 years on the Warren County Board of Supervisors, four of which he served as chairman. Traczyk is retired.

The primary will be held at Millwood Station Banquet Hall in Winchester this Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
