Former Frederick County Middle School to be Sold

10 April 2018 News

The Frederick County Board of Supervisors is selling the former Frederick County Middle School.

The property, located at 441 Linden Drive in the City of Winchester, is comprised of a little over 22 acres and includes an over 100,000 square foot building with approximately 7,400 square feet of storage and ancillary buildings. The county has gotten use out of the retired structure in the past; in the wake of the Parkland, Florida shooting, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office used the space to conduct active shooter drills. Now, as it prepares to unload the property, the county will be holding site visits and walk-throughs for interested bidders. The dates for these are Tuesday, April 17th, from 8-10 a.m., and Thursday, April 19th from 2-4 p.m. The property is currently zoned residential, and will be sold as is.
