Frederick County Esther Boyd Animal shelter is at capacity

Used by permission Frederick County Virginia Government

The Frederick County Esther Boyd Animal Shelter reports it has reached capacity.

Because of the current situation the shelter will have little choice but to restrict intake for now.

Currently animals are already being doubled up in kennels and cages.

The shelter staff is reaching out to other rescuers in an attempt to get some animals transferred.

Those finding a stray or needing to surrender a pet should call the shelter at 540-667-9192 for alternative resources first.

The shelter of course will always help in cases of emergencies.

If you have a pet currently at the Esther Boyd Animal Shelter they ask that you move forward with reclaiming the pet or rehoming the animal.
