Frederick County Officers are recuperating

Frederick County Sheriff Office (FCSO) Deputies assisted Winchester Police (WP) in apprehending a suspect in a high speed chase Sunday.

Deputy Armstrong and his K-9 partner, Charo were slightly injured when the suspect’s vehicle was rammed by the deputy’s cruiser to stop the pursuit and protect oncoming traffic.

Deputy Armstrong was transporter to Winchester Medical Center for treatment of cuts, bruises and for observation.

K-9 Officer Charo was bruised in the incident and monitored by emergency veterinarians.

Both officers were released and are recuperating at home.

Felony eluding and other charges are pending against suspect Nicholas VanDyke of Winchester who was apprehended without further incident.
