Frederick County Sheriff’s Office to take Part in National Night Out

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is inviting the public to attend, “National Night Out” Tuesday August 1, 2017 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. The event will take place at Target, Rutherford Crossing (Rt. 11 North),191 Market St. Winchester, VA.

According to Sheriff Lenny Millholland, “National Night Out” is an annual community building campaign that has been around for 34 years. It promotes police and community partnerships and numerous friendships to make neighborhoods safer and a more caring place to live. National Night Out develops a relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing a sense of community. There are 16,000 communities with over 38 million neighbors who will get together for “National Night Out.”

There will be many fun things for children and adults to do. Stop by and see “Bleu” the Sheriff’s Office Bloodhound, the Chick-fil-a Cow, and so many other things of interest such as Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, Civil Disturbance Team, Emergency Response Team, Search and Rescue Team, ATV, MRAP, Boat and Canine Unit. There will be other organizations such as the FBI, DEA, Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries, Virginia Department of Transportation, Virginia State Police, and CSX Railroad Police.

Target will also be showing off their equipment, answering questions and do face paintings. Additionally, they will raffle off a bicycle and helmet during the event
