Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Trying to Identify Body in Vehicle Fire
1 August 2017 News
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is requesting help from the public in trying to identify a woman whose body was found following a vehicle fire. A burnt pickup truck was found at 450 Dicks Hollow Road at around 8:30pm on Friday July 28, 2017. The female is believed to have been in her 50s.
Authorities believe she was a nearby resident of where she was found but are not sure. Authorities don’t believe she was slain because there were no obvious signs of physical trauma. However, authorities cannot rule out foul play until autopsy results are released by the Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Northern District in Manassas. Authorities hope fingerprinting will identify the woman.
A person passing by the scene called the fire department at approximately 8:19pm. When crew responded to an area off Northwestern Pike (U.S. 50) and Indian Hollow Road, they were quickly able to extinguish the fire but the vehicle was a total loss. The female was found outside of the driver’s side of the vehicle, a late 1980s model Chevrolet pickup truck.
