Frederick County’s Spring Community Cleaning Community Shred Successful

­Frederick County’s Spring Cleaning Community Shred was held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 and posted a record 325 participants. A total of 16,280 pounds of paper was recycled, which is also a new record. This effort helped conserve 138 trees, nearly 57,000 gallons of water and 578 gallons of oil in addition to saving energy and landfill space.

Cash and food donations made to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank will provide 512 meals. Approximately 200 used books were donated to the Little Free Library.

The event was made possible through the support of several local businesses.
