Frederick’s County Sheriff’s Office Warns Of Spam Calls

The Frederick’s County Sheriff’s Office has been notified that citizens are receiving calls of people claiming to be sheriff deputies to attempt and get people to solicit funds to avoid incarceration.

Know that these imposters are trying to convince victims to provide bank information, usually in the form of gift cards to avoid further proceedings.

Be aware that the Frederick’s County Sheriff’s Office, or any sheriff’s office will never contact a person asking for any type of payment to satisfy a legal issue or arrest.

If you receive a call like this, contact your local sheriff’s office first before releasing any private information.
