Front Royal Apartment Fire Caused by Arson

18 July 2019 Front Royal/Warren County News

The Warren County Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that the cause of a fire that claimed one life in January of 2019 was arson.

The 47 Royal Lane blaze in Front Royal took place on January 30, and killed 51-year-old Jennifer Roberts in her apartment. Roberts has since been identified as the sole suspect of the incident; investigators determined that she was scheduled to be evicted the next day, which they believe may have motivated her to commit the act of arson. 10 people were displaced as a result of the fire, which caused an estimated $500,000 in damages, and two firefighters were injured as they fought the blaze.
