Front Royal Asks Residents to Conserve Power
As temperatures are expected to reach well into the 90s in the next few days, the Town of Front Royal is asking its electric customers to conserve power.
The town said in a notice Monday (8/19/2019) that conserving during peak hours from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. can help it save on transmission and capacity costs, and therefore help keep the electricity rates low. Front Royal is asking customers to participate in this conservation both August 20 and 21 by shutting off lights when not needed, avoiding the use of stoves or ovens during peak hours, unplugging small appliances, raising the thermostat by a few degrees, and waiting until after peak hours to do laundry.
