Car Runs Over Front Royal Bicyclist

13 June 2018 News

Late Saturday night in Front Royal, a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of South Royal Avenue and West Prospect Street.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Warren County Fire and Rescue, and Virginia State Police all responded to the incident just before midnight, when they found a male trapped under a small silver Chevy Malibu.  Using a tire jack, authorities and civilians worked together to extricate the victim, 21-year-old Trevail Deshaun Holloman, from beneath the vehicle. Holloman, a Front Royal resident, was transported first to Warren Memorial Hospital and then to the Virginia Commonwealth Medical Center in critical condition.

Witnesses indicated that Holloman was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk when he left the curb and entered the travel lane of the vehicle that hit him, driven by Front Royal resident Nathan Helsley. Authorities do not believe alcohol or speed were factors; however, the investigation is still ongoing.
