Front Royal is flushing fire hydrants through 4/14

A news release from the town of Front Royal announced that hydrant flushing is being done.

The flushing will be done throughout the community from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Apr. 14.

Flushing of hydrants ensures that they are operating properly and clears the lines of any sediments.

Flushing is done in the day light hours so crews can observe the hydrant and do any minor repairs to the unit to ensure they are and will continue to operate properly.

During flushing you should watch for water in the streets of the town.

You may experience periods of low water pressure and or discoloration of your water.

The discoloration can be remedied by running your cold water faucet until the water clears which shouldn’t take more than 2 minutes.
