Front Royal Man Dies After Shenandoah River Incident

10 October 2018 News

A Front Royal man was pronounced dead after being found in an unresponsive state in the Shenandoah River.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of the man’s condition at around 5:30 p.m. Monday, and found him and a friend at the Riverton Boat Landing in Warren County. 28-year-old Larry Dawson II had already been pulled out of the river by his friend, who was administering CPR when first responders arrived. Dawson was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital where he was later declared dead. Warren County Sheriff’s Lt. Phillip Henry was quoted as saying that the two had been searching the river for property that they had lost in the river the previous day. The incident is currently under investigation.
