Front Royal man is apprehended in Fauquier Co. after chase

The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) reports the arrest of a Front Royal man after a high speed chase.

On May 11 a FCSO Deputy observed a known suspect who had multiple outstanding warrants against him in other jurisdictions.

Attempts to stop the suspect led to a high-speed chase through multiple streets and yards until his vehicle came to a Woodline and stopped.

Once the vehicle stopped the driver attempted to flee on foot.

Multiple patrol deputies responded to the area and established a perimeter.

In an abundance of caution nearby schools were locked down and residents  notified by social media to be cautious and remain indoors.

Canine units and a helicopter search resulted in the suspect being taken into custody without further incident.

Front Royal resident Shane Brent has been charged with driving revoked for a Driving Under the Influence charge.

In addition Brent is now facing additional charges of eluding and drinking while driving in this incident.

The 32-year-old has also been served with outstanding warrants from Fauquier County and Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

In Warren County Brent faces charges of providing false identification to law enforcement, shoplifting and two counts of forgery of public records.

Brent is being held in the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center without bond.
