Front Royal PD Joining Labor Day “Drive Sober” Campaign

15 August 2018 News

The Front Royal Police Department has announced in a release that this coming Labor Day holiday, a time of year when drunk-driving fatalities surge, they will be out in full force in support of the 2018 Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

Between August 17th and September 3rd, law enforcement officers will team up with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to participate in high-visibility exercises, pulling over and arresting drunk drivers. This campaign will reflect an increased effort to arrest those who choose to drive after drinking. Front Royal Police Chief Kahle Magalis said in the release that drivers can expect to see an increased police presence on the roads in Front Royal specifically targeting impaired drivers and those who are over the legal blood alcohol content limit. There is also the possibility of checkpoints being set up at various locations in town.
