Front Royal Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle
5 July 2018 News
A Front Royal pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at 9:15 a.m. in the 800 block of John Marshall Highway; according to a release from the Front Royal Police Department, the 21 year old victim Arney Murray Jr. told officers that he was walking south across John Marshall Highway, and didn’t see the car that hit him until right before he was struck. Murray had not been walking on a crosswalk at the time of the accident. He was evaluated by EMS and was transported to Warren Memorial Hospital with minor abrasions and subsequently released.
The driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Justin Matlock, said that he was driving eastbound past 7-11 when Murray ran across the traffic lane. Officers have determined that neither speed nor alcohol were a factor in this incident.
