Front Royal Police conduct internal investigation
The Front Royal Police Department was made aware on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, of concerning social media posts that had been made by an officer within the department.
Upon receipt of the complaint, the officer was immediately placed on administrative leave. The Internal Affairs Division conducted a thorough investigation, the results of which were also vetted externally by a third party.
The department is instituting social media training as well as conducting anti-bias policing training in addition to the mandated yearly cultural diversity requirements of the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.
