Front Royal Town Attorney Authorized for EDA Lawsuit
Front Royal’s Town Council voted unanimously this week to allow the Town Attorney’s Office to file a lawsuit against the Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority.
The motion for the authorization was made by Councilman Gary Gillispie during Monday’s (6/10/2019) Town Council meeting, after council convened for a close session to consult with legal counsel. They also authorized the Town Attorney’s Office to take legal action against “any other necessary parties to recover all moneys owed or will be owed” to the town. The action came after a speech from newly appointed Mayor Tederick; he lamented the town’s rebuffed efforts to see a forensic audit conducted by the EDA, despite multiple FOIA requests. He also requested that the dissolution of the EDA be a topic of discussion for the next town-county liaison session.
