Front Royal Town Council Approves Real Estate Tax Rate

10 April 2019 Front Royal/Warren County News

Front Royal’s Town Council voted Monday (4/8/2019) to keep the town’s real estate tax rate steady at 13.5 cents per $100 of assessed value.

While the tax rate will stay the same, Front Royal residents can expect to pay more in real estate taxes because of a recent housing reassessment. Keeping the tax rate at 13.5 cents is expected to generated an estimate $1,824,339 in revenue for the town overall, around $183,445 more than last year. A total of $425,945 of that money will be allocated toward Front Royal’s new police headquarters; Front Royal Director of Finance B.J. Wilson said Tuesday (4/10/2019) that the station could cost the town either an estimated $563,822 or $691,548 annually in loan payments, depending upon the term of its loan.
