Front Royal to Vote on Property Maintenance Code

10 September 2018 News

Front Royal’s Town Council will vote on whether or not to approve a property maintenance code that would give the town more power to deal with unsafe or unhealthy structures.

The Council’s vote will decide whether or not to adopt the entirety of a property maintenance code that would expand the town’s powers beyond an established public nuisance code, allowing them to pursue proactive enforcement against buildings that are a danger to the public. If the new code is approved, violations will be enforced by either Warren County’s building official, a part-time engineer or a part-time code officer. The vote comes amidst concerns of a raccoon infestation at an East Main Street property; it will take place tonight (9/10/2018) at 7 p.m.
