Front Royal’s Afton Inn Gets Site Plan Approval
Front Royal’s Planning Commission has approved the proposed site plan for the new Afton Inn.
The plan calls for renovations and a partial demolition; the building’s non-historic annex was demolished in September, but the main historic structure is being preserved and stabilized. The finished Afton will include a ground floor restaurant and commercial space, offices and loft apartments on the second floor, and additional third-floor apartments. According to reports, everything in the site plan has been approved with the exception of the building’s planned electric car charging stations, which will require Town Council approval because they will be in a public right-of-way.
