Front Royal’s National Night Out celebration set for Oct. 6

25 September 2020 Front Royal/Warren County News

National Night Out will be celebrated in Front Royal on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Front Royal Police Department (FRPD) and the Front Royal Police Foundation.

This year, National Night Out will be mobile. Law enforcement will ride through town and meet up with citizens in smaller groups in areas where social distancing can be observed.

Neighborhood visits will be held throughout the town with police officers, foundation members and other law enforcement partners. The evening will begin at the FRPD with opening remarks starting at 5:00 p.m. The parade will begin at 5:20 p.m. The route will continue through town, utilizing five stopping points along the way, and will conclude at the Front Royal Gazebo at 8:00 p.m.

National Night Out “showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight to build a safer nation,” a news release FRPD states.

“Events like National Night Out are necessary to help strengthen the partnerships between the community and law enforcement,” said Front Royal Police Foundation Vice Chair Brendan Murphy.
