Furever Friday: Meet Athena

31 July 2020 Front Royal/Warren County News

Welcome back to Furever Friday!

Each week, we spotlight an adoptable pet from the Humane Society of Warren County.

This week we’re featuring Athena, a 4-year-old black and tan coonhound. Athena is very affectionate and will gently paw at you for attention. She is a sweetie and will soon be looking for her forever home! She has been with the Humane Society since April and has been battling a nasty ear infection ever since her arrival. After following veterinarian recommendations on medications and treatment, nothing seemed to work and the poor girl was getting increasingly uncomfortable each day. The community came together to raise funds and Athena was able to receive surgery; doctors went in and removed her ear canal.

She is now recovering and will need one last round of antibiotics, then she is ready to find a home! A gentleman has been following her story on the Humane Society’s Facebook page. He came to meet Athena and has sponsored her adoption fee.

Athena does need a home with no cats. Can you give this girl the loving home she deserves?

Adoption applications can be found at humanesocietywarrencounty.com. Once the application is processed, a staff member will reach out to set up an appointment to come in and meet her.

Furever Friday is proudly sponsored by Shear Elegance Pet Boutique. Shear Elegance Pet Boutique has been giving pets the love, care and respect they deserve since 2011. Visit them today off John Marshall Highway and on Facebook.
