Gov. Youngkin announces the largest employment rate since 2014

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that the labor force participation rate rose to 66.2 percent for April which is the highest rate since June of 2014.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics shows an increase of 21,687 individuals joining the labor force in Virginia in April.
Those numbers increases Virginia’s labor force to over 4 million people.
According to statistics Virginia’s unemployment rate is now at 3.1 percent and remains below the national average of 3.4 percent.
The governor noted that this is the highest labor force participation rate in nearly a decade showing that Virginia is on the move.
