Grants Will Fund Frederick Co. School Resource Officers

18 June 2019 Frederick County News

Grants announced last week mean the cost of some of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office’s school resource officers will be offset.

Announced on June 13, 2019, the $3.47 million from the state-funded School Resource Officer/School Security Officer Incentive Program is going to 53 localities, including four counties in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Frederick County received two $42,714 grants, and announced Monday (6/17/2019) that a local match of $27,286 for each means they’ll have a total of $140,000. Of the nine additional School Resource Officers added to the Sheriff’s Office latest budget, the money will help offset the cost of two.
