Hornets football picked seventh

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University football team is picked to finish seventh in the ODAC football race according to poll results released Monday morning by the league office.

Shenandoah, which won its first three games of the 2015 season on its way to a third straight four-win campaign, has 16 points in the poll to easily outdistance Catholic for the No. 7 spot.

SU is seven points back of Bridgewater and Randolph-Macon, who tied at No. 5.

Defending champion Washington and Lee has 48 points and six first-place votes to grab the top spot over Hampden-Sydney. H-SC has 41 points to 35 for No. 3 selectionGuilford.

Voting was done on a 7-1 basis with coaches unable to vote for their own teams in the poll.

Shenandoah opens its 2016 season on September 3 at Gallaudet. The ODAC opener is Thursday, September 29 versus Randolph-Macon.
