Horticulture Supervisor Calls it a Career

11 December 2019 Front Royal/Warren County News

December 11, 2019

FRONT ROYAL – Front Royal Horticulture Supervisor Anne Rose will retire tomorrow.

She took the position in 2008, and has worked tirelessly since to increase the aesthetic appeal of Front Royal. During her career she has worked with the Public Works Department and the Front Royal Beautification Committee to maintain the scenic views and well kempt areas throughout the town.

Rose has been a gardner for quite some time. Her horticulture career has spanned 40 plus years, including time as an estate gardener in Lansdowne and former parks and grounds supervisor for the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department. She is a certified arborist and pesticide applicator on top of her other titles.

Under her supervision, the Town hung flower baskets all around Front Royal. The baskets contain a petunia deemed the “supertunia,” due to its ability to bloom in various colors, clean itself and last for longer periods of time.

Rose will celebrate her 65th birthday the day after her retirement.
