‘I Can’t Breathe’ walk to be held in Old Town Winchester

4 June 2020 Winchester News

On Friday, June 5, the “I Can’t Breathe” Walk on Winchester, organized by community members, will be held in Old Town Winchester.

To ensure the safety of participants and downtown visitors during the permitted event, Boscawen Street between Indian Alley and Cameron Street will be closed from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The walk will be held at various times throughout the day.

The planned route for the walk will start and end at the Frederick County Courthouse on the Loudoun Street Mall. From the starting point, participants will walk to Cork Street, follow Cameron Street north to reach Piccadilly Street and then return to Loudoun Street to reach the courthouse. (See attached map)

The entrance/exit gate at Court Square Autopark, which is on the corner of Boscawen and Cameron Streets, will be closed. Motorists will be required to enter and exit the garage from S. Kent Street.

In addition, Friday’s trash pickup will occur two hours earlier, at 8 a.m., for Cameron and Braddock Streets from Cork to Piccadilly; Piccadilly, Boscawen and Cork Streets from Cameron to Braddock; and the Loudoun Street Mall.

All WinTran routes will be canceled Friday as well.
