Jimmy Smith Running for Frederick Supervisor Seat

15 March 2019 Frederick County News

Jimmy Smith recently announced that he is seeking the Republican nomination for the Frederick County Board of Supervisors’ Back Creek District Seat.

Smith publicly announced his bid at the Firefly Cafe and Bakery on Saturday (3/9/2019), where he was joined by around ten of his supporters. He says his decision to run came after hearing that incumbent Republican Supervisor Gary Lofton would be running for Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. Smith, a sales consultant with Service Tire Truck Centers and self-described “regular guy who goes to work every day,” says he’ll be able to listen to people’s needs and understand where they’re coming from. In an interview Thursday (3/14/2019), he mentioned building schools and hospitals that anticipate future needs as a key issue going forward for Frederick county.
