The Kernstown Battlefield Association (KBA) announced in their news letter that they plan a one day special opening.

The battlefield will open the Museum and offer tours Wed. Mar. 23 starting at 10 a.m. for a special 160 commemorative of the first battle of Kernstown Mar. 23, 1862.

Then on Mar. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. a tour will be conducted by author Gary Ecelbarger.

Ecelbarger wrote the definitive book, according to the news letter, on the first battle of Kernstown, We Are In For It.

There will be a break around noon for lunch during that tour.

The KBA request that you register for the Mar. 26 event although it is not required.

You can register for that event here so the KBA has an approximate number of attendees.

The Kernstown Battlefield will officially open for the 2022 season Apr. 23.

The American Battlefield Trust will also host Park Day starting at 8:30 a.m. for general maintenance after the winter.
