Lane, Ramp Closures Coming to Frederick Co. I-81
3 May 2019 Shenandoah County Winchester Frederick County News
VDOT is warning that motorists on I-81 in Frederick County should expect some overnight lane closures soon, and that on-ramp and off-ramp closures will come in the future.
These closures will allow workers to extend the southbound acceleration lane and northbound deceleration lane at exit 323, the first phase of a project that will bring similar upgrades to exits 315 and 296 on I-81 this year. Beginning May 6, 2019, northbound and southbound right lane closures are possible Monday through Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., and exit 323 itself will be closed on a future date to be determined. Concrete barriers will also block the right shoulders of both north and southbound I-81 in this area, and work will take place behind them day and night.
