LCSO investigates a double fatal crash

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) reports that they are continuing their investigation of a double fatal crash that occurred on James Monroe Highway in Aldie May 28.

Preliminary indications are that a motorcycle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a truck and its horse trailer which in turn collided with a Sports Utility Vehicle.

The operator of the motorcycle 61-year-old Thomas A. Miller of Charles Town was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Sport Utility Vehicle 68-year-old Pedro J. Sera-Leyva of Leesburg was also killed in the incident.

The pickup truck driver was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Loudoun County Animal Service Personnel  took control of the horses who were uninjured in the crash.
