LFCC announces a name change

Lord Fairfax Community College is looking to change the name of the school.
The school namesake and George Washington mentor Thomas Lord Fairfax inherited a great deal of property and choose the White Post area to live until his death in 1781.
Because of his ownership of nearly 100 slaves the college, prompted by the State Board for Community Colleges decided a change was in order.
The name change will have no impact on degrees or certificates earned at the college.
