LFCC Workforce Solutions preparing community for life after COVID-19

14 April 2020 Covid19 Luray/Page County Shenandoah County Front Royal/Warren County Winchester Frederick County Clarke County News

LFCC Workforce Solutions is helping community members prepare for changes to come when the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

“Society as we see it now is only temporary,” the organization wrote in a news release. “There is no definitive answer on how long this norm will be, but experts will tell you it is not a permanent fixture. There may not have been much that you could do to prepare for the immediate impact that changed our daily routines but the one thing that you can do to prepare for the change that is on its way is be ready for it.”

LFCC Workforce Solutions recognizes that every situation is unique, so the ways they can help will vary. The organization is here to connect community members to well-being services outside the college as well as provide support and resources for small businesses. Short and long-term programs are available at the college as well as online courses.

In addition, a free webinar, “5 Ways to Support Employees During this Unprecedented Time” is available to view at any time. LFCC’s Online Career Coach is available with information on programs to prepare for a new career, current job opportunities, resume building and more. Guy Curtis joined Janet Michael on The Valley Today recently to discuss the webinar and gave a few of the tips covered in it. You can listen (or watch) that conversation here: https://theriver953.com/podcast/5-ways-to-support-employees/
