Local agencies raise funds for emergency shelter

The Warren Coalition, Blue Ridge Housing Network and Thermal Shelter announced by email and effort to raise funds for an emergency women and children’s shelter.
The need has been identified in the community as there is currently no shelter in the area.
Women with their children are often forced to sleep in their car or risk losing their children due to a temporary setback.
The group has established a short term goal of raising enough funds to support a mother and her children for up to two weeks at a hotel.
The long term goal is to rent an apartment for a year that is available to families in need.
A booth at the Wine & Craft Festival on May 20th will have more information and donation opportunities.
Handmade Ugandan bracelets will be available for purchase.
Donations over $5 will be entered into drawings for various prizes.
If you would like to help by donating prizes for the drawing contact Warren Coalition Community Outreach Coordinator Celeste Brooks at celeste@warrencoalition.org or 540-660-3367.
Donations to the emergency shelter can be made online at warrencoalition.org or by a check payable to “Warren Coalition” with “Emergency Shelter” written on the memo line.
Any donations can also be mailed to Warren Coalition, PO Box 2058, Front Royal, VA 22630.
