Local citizens win big in Virginia Lottery

Virginia Lottery announced some big local winners in the Shenandoah Valley.

The Feb. 6 Powerball drawing had both a $100,000 and 3 local $50,000 winners check your tickets closely.

A $100,000 winning ticket was sold at the Speedway on Seminole Lane in Charlottesville.

Bo’s Belly Barn on East Main Street Luray sold someone a $50,000 winning Lottery ticket.

The Handy Mart on North Frederick Pike Winchester sold a $50,000 winning ticket.

A $50,000 winning ticket from Front Royal’s Royal Mart on North Royal Avenue went to another winner.

The Feb. 6 winning numbers were 5-11-22-23-69 with a Powerball number of 7.

One ticket in Washington State matched all six numbers to win the jackpot of $754.6 million.

The profits from Virginia Powerball sales is estimated at more than $15.6 million.

By law all profits raised in sales goes to support K-12 education in Virginia.
