Local Strasburg dog wins award at Westminster Dog Show

7 March 2020 Shenandoah County News

Local Strasburg dog, Ralphie the Tibetan mastiff, recently won an award in one of the world’s most prestigious dog shows, the 144th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Ralphie won an award of merit, which is given to dogs that are not judged in any of the dog breed categories. This is the second year in a row Ralphie has won the award. He also recently won a Grand Championship award in a Florida show, and will compete in Maryland next month.

Ralphie’s owner, Strasburg resident Jennifer Rodes, said, “He is doing really well.” She described Ralphie outside of the dog show arena as “a big baby, a cuddle-bug, friendly and outgoing, he loves people and cookies.”
