Lord Fairfax Health District offers free flu shots

The Lord Fairfax Health District (LFHD) will offer free flu shots at Winchester’s Frederick Douglass Park on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The LFHD advises everyone that getting a flu shot is the single best way to protect yourself from getting sick. It is also the best way to prevent the spread of flu to others. 

Flu vaccines are offered at all health department clinics (Shenandoah, Page, Warren, Clarke and Frederick counties and the City of Winchester) in the LFHD. The cost is $30, and if the patient has insurance, the clinic will bill insurance. Walk-in flu shots are available at any health department clinics where the “Get Your Flu Shot” sign is up.
