Luray and the DOF team up for water quality

Luray and the Virginia Department of Forestry (DOF) announced that they are inviting volunteers to plant trees along the Hawksbill Creek.

Trees will be planted along the creek to improve water quality through the riparian buffer professionals will be on hand to demonstrate and teach the importance of the effort.

Tools will be provided with volunteers invited each Sat. in Mar. to preform the work to protect the water way.

Each day begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. starting at the Luray Park and Ride on Rt. 211 rain or shine.

Dress appropriately for the weather and for work around water.

Bring your own drinking water and pack a lunch for a midday break.

If weather becomes a factor dates will be moved to April.
