Luray Police Help with Record Stanley Drug Seizure

19 April 2019 Luray/Page County News

The Stanley Police Department has announced that, thanks to the assistance of the Luray Police Department, it has made what may be the largest drug seizure in the town’s history.

Late Tuesday (4/16/2019) evening, Stanley Police Officer Nick Winum initiated a traffic stop on East Main Street for what the department described as a multitude of traffic violations. Officer Winum asked for assistance from Luray Police K9 Quba during the stop, and he was able to make a positive alert on the vehicle. A search yielded what a release described as a large amount of both methamphetamines and individually packaged amounts of marijuana. The vehicle’s driver, 38-year old Daniel Wayne Leggett, was arrested on multiple charges including possession with intent to sell both meth and marijuana.
