Luray Police respond to a threat on school property

In a social post from the Luray Police Department it is reveled that they have charged a woman for making an oral threat.

The post reads that LPD continues to investigate an incident of an oral threat being made on school property.

The perceived threat was made during a school board meeting on mask mandates and caused public alarm.

Immediately after the perceived threat the woman contacted law enforcement and apologized for the statement.

The woman was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

The woman is cooperating fully with law enforcement.

Measures have been put in place to ensure safety of students and staff at all schools.
