RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Gov. Terry McAuliffe is set to head overseas to visit Virginia troops serving abroad.
The governor’s office announced Friday that he’s headed to Turkey, Qatar, Afghanistan and Germany as part of a delegation of governors.
The five-day trip, scheduled to start Wednesday, was organized by the Pentagon, according to McAuliffe’s office.
Virginia has a heavy military presence and is home to the Norfolk Naval Base, the world’s largest. The governor has made ending veterans’ homelessness a top priority.
