McShin Foundation Comes to RSW Regional Jail

18 December 2018 Shenandoah County Front Royal/Warren County News

The McShin Foundation’s program is officially underway at the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren Regional Jail.

The McShin Foundation is a recovery resource foundation with a mission to deliver a message of hope to individuals with a substance use disorder, and to facilitate their journey to a healthier life. Based in Richmond, the foundation has been working for the last six weeks to set up one of its programs in the RSW jail, and launched it Friday (12/14/2018) with a group that included Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring and Delegate Todd Gilbert. Yesterday was the program’s first official functioning day. Those who participate can take advantage of peer-to-peer support with volunteers who are also in recovery, and take advantage of recovery books and DVDs as they identify which path is best for them.
